It was a great initiative taken by New Socialist Alternative – Pune branch along with Lokkalyan Mazdoor Union on the day of International Labour Day to commence workers’ study circle. If such meetings would be organized frequently then there will be increased awareness among workers on various social-economic, political, and cultural issues that they deal with in their everyday life. Furthermore, it is very important for workers to participate in politics in order to safeguard their interests.

Sir,
The brutal murder of Mariya has left all of us in extreme shock and grief. Many of us were not able to comprehend this news. This is a dangerous tendency and we see this as a organised and planned challenge (murder) to the non conformist ways of life. Mariya as we know was honest about her sexuality and never felt inferior about it. He was a hardcore same sex/bisexual/transgender rights activist. We demand you to direct your attention towards this heinous crime and ensure a speedy police investigation.

Hi dear Sebin,
We at the New socialist Alternative, congratulate the militant nurses who are sticking their neck out and speaking against the exploitation. It is only coming together and building strong democratic unions with a foresighted leadership that can improve the lot of the nurses. Today no section of the working class can be isolated in their struggles and win any tangible improvement in their living standards, a united action of the entire class is very much needed. The profit system of capitalism internationally keeps us the working population divided on various grounds of religion, region, caste, gender, language & sexuality etc., and this disunity helps the rich and powerful at the top to drive down our wages and living standards. Militant class actions such as strikes and agitations will give us the necessary strength and understanding to take on the system of bosses that is Capitalism to not only win our demand in the short term but to see the replacement of the exploitative system with a genuinely democratic socialist system where every worker; men & women get a fair share to live a decent life. And that task can only be achieved by the unity of all of us coming under one organisation/party which can and will fight for the success. New Socialist Alternative (CWI-India) is striving to achieve the same.
